  • My thesis investigates the performance of a hyperspectral LiDAR instrument in chlorophyll estimation. This new remote sensing instrument enables simultaneous 3D spatial and spectral measurements of objects, enabling, for example, the 3D mapping of chlorophyll in trees. The amount of chlorophyll in vegetation is an important indicator of vegetation health and photosynthetic capacity. As the hyperspectral LiDAR technology matures it will provide significant improvements to the remote sensing of our environment.
