  • My thesis investigates the load-carrying mechanism of a passenger ship structure where the accommodation decks in the superstructure do not participate in the load-carrying of the vertical bending moment. This kind of structure is needed for enabling a ground breaking interior outfitting concept that allows the changing of the general arrangement of the vessel in reasonable time. The vessel can be more competitive and its lifetime earnings increased.
