  • My thesis work was carried out in the Finnish Geodetic Institute and it aims at developing a fully automatic and non-destructive method for the precise 3D reconstruction of living trees. Data for the project was collected with a terrestrial laser scanner that produces a 3D point cloud of its surroundings. The results of the project can be used for functional forest modelling, forest inventories and carbon cycle modelling.
