By studying creativity, I tried to figure out, which problems arise in the creative school environment. It turns out that there is a need to separate social and private work environments. How does one divide space in a classroom, where the same space one minute is social, and the next private? Perhaps with an enabling piece of furniture that offers a visual change between social and private.
My product is a desk lamp that opens up into a dining table lamp. The transition between a small pool of light and a big pool of light is supposed to represent something we unconsciously already know: the desk lamp signals private work, while the dining table lamp signals social interaction.
