“Benefits of service design” is a case project done for Fujitsu Finland and it shows in practice, what the benefits of service design are. The user experience of “Patja service” in its introduction stage was re-designed. Good design is understated and functional, yet it makes an impression. Most services are experienced through products to some extent. When those tangible aspects of the service are created together with the intangible parts, it is possible to create better user experiences. There is often a gap between advertising and the actual service. It can be narrowed by involving designers more into the service development.
