In my thesis, I examine how a designer can get into a good start with their career. The designer I’m examining works typically in a field of furniture and product design.
I have interviewed Finnish product and furniture designers and employees of Finnish design brands. I have also interviewed design educators and a representative of a PR company.
My lighting fixture designs are closely related to my thesis. I am using them as case examples, describing how I have tried to start my career and get my first products into companies' selections. My goal is to map out the field of design and try to help others on the start of their careers.
