I chose a vacation house as my working topic for my affection to nature and interest towards the ascetic way of life. My work is a minimalistic summerhouse in the Loviisa archipelago. My aim is to fit the basic needs of a human being functionally into a summer cottage. I wish to preserve a certain ascetic nature in the functions to emphasize the simple, daily hands-on work. The building is small scale and furniture like, due to my approach from an interior architects point of view. The shape of the house forms around the human scale, necessary functions and furniture. The emphasis of the work is in the building and interior and the pieces of furniture have been developed as by-products.
