How to support tourists experience genuine local culture, which could turn out to be meaningful for their life?
My thesis is about developing a new service concept for an authentic tourism experience, bridging two different fields, libraries and tourism, by service design approach as a strategic tool.
The “Aito” service concept, proposed for the Helsinki central library, offers a diverse level of understanding genuine Finnish culture for tourists. It is based on the emotional interaction with local people. This aims to bring stimuli for tourists and locals, and a positive contribution for the library and local community, ultimately increasing the brand power of Finland.
