Experiment 3: Pattern formation with heated wire (Image credits: Riikka Townsend)
My thesis presents alternative variations for updating the current rag rug by means of new technologies and materials for the year 2030. As part of the concept development phase, I conduct practical design experiments to explore methods for pattern changing on woven surfaces by using thermochromic pigment. The study does not produce a final solution for future products or services, but it provides conceptual suggestions for future textiles and forms a starting point for further research.
