My thesis is an art therapeutic project, which deals with involuntary childlessness and transforming infertility related experiences into art.
In October 2011, I gathered my exhibition “The unexplained tale” about infertility experiences. I invited people suffering from childlessness to visit my exhibition and participate in an art therapy workshop. The workshops were led by an art therapist who specializes in infertility. In the written part of my thesis I study how art could work as an empowering element in one’s infertility crisis.
My thesis has been executed with the support and help of the Finnish Infertility Association Simpukka and Väestöliitto.
