“Idleply” is a light concept for near-future technology. The starting point has been a new kind of interaction between the user and the light source, enabled by the paper-thin and pliable OLED (Organic Light-Emitting diode) surface lights that distribute a smooth and diffuse light.
“Idleply” is a bendable floor lamp that illuminates on both sides. Because of its adjustability in shape as well as brightness, it can function either as a task light, a general light or an atmospheric light.
“Idleply” was made as a part of the Aalto University and VTT research project AthLEDics.
