Photography project “Pizzeria Finlandia” is an around-the-world trip in Finland through ethnic restaurants. Finns and immigrants meet face-to-face every day over the pizza counter at the numerous ethnic restaurants all around the country. The customers may tell immigrants to GO AWAY at the poll, but at the same time they are happy to TAKE AWAY a meal served by a restaurant entrepreneur with an ethnic background. Kebab can be a link between the two with food being the most visible symbol of globalization. “Pizzeria Finlandia” shows the individual stories behind the pizzas. Who are these people serving food for the entire Finland and to what kind of a country they have come to?
